Bom-Wrapper

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Carol Petillo can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: I had the privledge of taking Carols's year-long class The History of American Foreign Policy and her class The History of Vietnam before I graduated from BC in 1985. Carol was an extraordinary teacher and I consider myself blessed having had the opportunity to learn from such a gifted scholar and wonderful person. While our politics may have differed, Carol cared more about getting the best from her students than trying to convince them of the correctness of her views. She loved informed debate. I'll always rememeber when she told me that I would do something special with my life. It was just the kind of thing to give a young man the encouragment to work towrd his dreams. My condolances to Carol's family.

Condolence: I would like to offer my condolences to Carol's family. She was a wonderful person who was always extremely kind and supportive to me as I shouldered the IMPOSSIBLE task of succeeding her at BC. From the moment I arrived on campus in 2001, I was struck by how many students loved Carol, how grateful they were to her for all of the help and guidance she gave them over the years, and how much they were going to miss her as she began her well-deserved retirement. Given the warm feelings she elicited from students and colleagues, I can only imagine how painful this loss must be for her family, and my thoughts are with them now.
