The community has suffered a loss that it my opinion will never be able to be measured. Robert "Bob" French was one to give back to the community in so many ways that many people will never know all he did. He gave countless hours as volunteer firefighter, ambulance operator and extrication technician for Camden and surrounding Towns. I met Bob in the 80's as a member of a team of volunteer firefighters to form the Camden First Aid Access Team. This team under Bob's direction became one of the most skilled group of extrication technicians in the area. Together under his supervision they helped save many lives. He was a talented mechanic who spent many hours working on fire trucks, ambulances and buses to keep them ready to serve their communities. I witnessed on many occasions Bob help a fellow firefighter, police officer or EMS provider who would bring their own car into the station to work on and give them a hand because they needed it the next day for work. The only cost might be listening to a little grumbling if it was anything other than a GM vehicle. Bob was a gem and truly someone I looked up to and respected greatly he will be missed. I am so sorry for loss Dolores , Bobby jr , Mike, Jeff and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear French Family,
I am very saddened and distressed about your loss of Bob. He was Wayne's muse, idol, teacher, and confidant. He was a kind, generous, skilled, talented, caring, and loving man. He was always kind, accepting, and caring towards me, as well as everyone he encountered. I know that he was also the kind of man that would give the shirt off his back for anyone. He would come to their need within moments notice. I will remember him when he would visit the house, offer advice and assistance on the vehicles being maintained, and just to have social interactions. My heart goes out to all of you as well as his closest friends. My prayers, positive thoughts, and love to all. With deepest condolences, Joanna Wood-Ward
