The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Lori Traikos can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Lori Traikos

LINCOLNVILLE.........................Lori Traikos died 1st December, 2017. Born in Brooklyn NY, Lori grew up in Jericho, NY.
Lori lived in New York City for many years as well as London, England for over 12 years, and had a home in Maine for the last 20 years.
Lori earned a BA in Philosophy from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and a Master's from Columbia University in Cultural Anthropology. She attended the Maine Photo Workshop in the early 80s. She was selected to attend the prestigious Missouri Photo Workshop at the Missouri School of Journalism
Lori traveled the world as a prize-winning photojournalist and was published by most of the British newspapers (Daily Telegraph, Guardian, Independent, Daily Mail, Evening Standard, The Times), the New York Times, and Time-Life.
Lori is survived by her daughter Vika Santoro, Alpha her 8-year old Labrador, and her husband of ~33 years, Ovid Santoro. Lori is pre-deceased by her mother Carm Catapano Traikos. Lori also leaves behind her father Peter Traikos of Newport, RI, two sisters, Susan Potter of Newport, RI, and Debra Penkava, of Rockville Centre, NY, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews in New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Greece.
Calling hours and a funeral mass were held in Camden on December 5, 2017.
