Obituary for William S. "Bill" Stanek Jr.

LINCOLNVILLE – William S. Stanek, Jr., passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, after a lengthy illness. Born March 2, 1969, in Manchester, Connecticut, William was the son of the late William S. Stanek, Sr., and Lorraine Nash. William was raised in Vernon, Connecticut and graduated from Rockville High School in 1987.

William was an avid chef and graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island in 1997 with a degree in culinary arts. William worked as head chef in restaurants around Providence and Cape Cod until moving with his family to Maine to be closer to his favorite snowmobile trails and colder weather.

William will be remembered for his love of cars and the Buffalo Bills (even while living in Patriots Nation), his quiet and kind nature, infectious laugh, love of finding rocks on the beach, which he shared with his mother and daughter, and his fierce love for his family, including his dogs, Kaya and Bruno.

William is survived by his loving wife Christina Stanek; daughter Emily; mother Lorraine and stepfather Bruce Nash of Delores, Colorado; sister Wendy Stanek; Uncle Ernie and Aunt Louise Woollett of Manchester, Connecticut; Uncle Raymond Woollett of Newington, Connecticut; and cousin Bruce Woollett of South Thomaston, Maine.

Due to the current COVID-19 crisis, a public service will be announced in the fall.
