Obituary for Sandra Goodwin Sears

DANVERS, MASSACHUSETTS………….Sandra "Sandy" Goodwin Sears, 83, wife of the late
Cushman L. Sears, past away peacefully on Thursday, December 17, 2020 in Danvers,
Massachusetts. Born in Camden, ME on July 25, 1937, she was the daughter of
Orman M. Goodwin, Sr. and Evelyn (Ryder) Goodwin. A member of the Camden High School Class of
1955, Sandra received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in mathematics at Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts in 1959.
Sandra had been a math teacher for 18 years at St. John Prep School in
Danvers, MA. She enjoyed spending the summer months at her cottage on Megunticook
Lake in Lincolnville. She was a member of the Danvers Garden Club and later became Treasurer for the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts. She also served as a Flower Judge in Massachusetts for the last few years she lived in Danvers, MA before moving back to Maine full time. Sandra was a dedicated member
of the Maple Street Congressional Church in Danvers, MA

Her hobbies included
gardening, knitting, playing cards, and enjoying her wide circle of friends, noteworthy "the dirty dozen" both in
Massachusetts and in Camden.
She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, having a positive attitude, infectious smile, and boundless energy.
Sandra was predeceased by her husband, Cushman Sears in 2004, a brother,
Orman “Sonny” M. Goodwin, Jr. in 2016.
Surviving are her three sons, Dyer Cornell, Jr. of Salem, MA; Craig Cornell
and his wife, Christine of Peabody ,MA, Brent Cornell and his ex-wife, Tracey
of Kennebunk; two grandchildren, Edie Cornell and Jack Cornell; a
sister-in-law, Bebe Goodwin of Camden; two nieces, Jill Goodwin of
Belfast and Jan Warren of Camden
A spring graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Camden will be announced.
