Obituary for Ruth Beverage Dyer

MYSTIC, CT……….Ruth Frances Dyer passed away peacefully April 8, 2022, at the age of 74, surrounded by family.
Ruth was born in Camden, grew up in Hope, and moved to Connecticut when her daughters were young to raise her family in the Mystic area.
She was a loving mom to Bethany Dyer (Dan) and Krystal Dyer (Scott); a proud grandmother to James Dyer, Joshua Dyer, Brian Wade and Kevin Wade; and a wise, older sister to Regina Flower, Rita Pearse and Roxanne York. Ruth was predeceased by her parents, Elroy and Elsie Beverage of Hope.
For many years, Ruth worked at Carwild Corporation and ended her career at Densmore Oil in Mystic. She loved Las Vegas, Meatloaf (the singer, not the food — may he also RIP) and her family. Not necessarily in that order. Ruth had a sense of humor that would always catch you by surprise and she was fun to be around.
Ruth was a second mom to many of her daughter’s friends, loved by so many, and will be greatly missed. She had more life to live; she wasn’t ready to go.
A graveside service will be held at 3PM, Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Hope Grove Cemetery in Hope, followed by reception at the Hope Fire Station. All are welcome. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.longfuneralhomecamden.com. Arrangements are with the Long Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 9 Mountain Street, Camden.
