Obituary for Ronald Leslie Overlock

ROCKPORT………………….Ronald L. Overlock, 73, husband of Berneice (Westfall) Overlock, died on Sunday,
September 18, 2022 at his home. Born in Portland on May 20, 1949, he was the son of Ralph L. and Lois
(Bowen) Overlock, grew up in Camden, and was a member of the Class of 1969 at Camden-Rockport
High School.
Ron’s employment history included Western Auto, Camden Farmer’s Union, Camden Wastewater
Department, dispatcher for the Camden Fire Department, Nautica, Prince’s, and private caretaking.
Active for many years with the Camden Fire Department, Ron had been involved in the development of
the extrication team and had served as assistant fire chief. Ron served the local community through the
Camden First Aid Association providing care to many people in need as an EMT. He also served as
president of the CFAA.
On April 26, 1997, Ron married Berneice Westfall.
Surviving are his wife, Berneice Overlock of Rockport, three children, Carolee Roe of Independence, MO,
Ronald (Jennifer) Overlock, Jr. of Kansas City, MO, Felicia Overlock of Northport; two stepchildren,
Richard Butler of Rockport, Stephen Butler of Ohio; brother Patrick (Connie) Overlock of Hope; three
step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, Phil Bowen (Joan) of Morrill, and Dot
(Stan) Wood. He was predeceased by his parents, sister, Patty Overlock, and brother Richard Overlock.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Rockland Salvation Army
Church, 27 Payne Avenue, Rockland. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
