In 1988, he married Bobbi J. Ludwick of Camden at their home in Rockport, where they continued to live and raise their three boys.
Paul had many jobs throughout his lifetime and was a Jack of all trades, and a master of some. Always an entrepreneur, Paul had several businesses including Christmas tree sales, Diversified Land Services, Lasting Impressions Limousine, The Daily Grind, and Old School Sound and Lighting which all three of his sons participated in.
Another love of Paul’s was running sound for local bands including Joker, Heads of State, Oliver Sudden, and most recently, Right Angle Woman. Paul was also active as Cub Master of Cub Scout Pack 200 in Camden for 12 years. He always stated this was one of the most rewarding things he had done. He loved kids and it always pleased him to run into them as adults when they referred to him as Cub Master Barrows. Paul also enjoyed camping at Lake Pemaquid Campground, which he had done for over 20 years in the summer with his family and close friends. Paul was known for his great sense of humor, his positive attitude and the stores he could tell. He will be remembered as a devoted father and a loving husband.
In recent years, Paul had faced several life changing obstacles. Due to several heart attacks, he retired in 2007. In 2016, he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident causing him to lose a leg, but not his spirit or his sense of adventure. He was recently diagnosed with cancer. Before his death, Paul and Bobbi were able to realize one of their dreams purchasing a motorhome and travelling to Florida to visit their best friends, Randy and Judy Creamer.
