Obituary for Leah Chapman Gaulin

ROCKPORT………….Leah Chapman Gaulin, 88, widow of Norman Gaulin, died on December 26, 2021 at the Sussman House in Rockport. Born in Richmond, Virginia on March 7, 1933, she was the daughter of Ernest L. and Mary L. (Gawles) Chapman. On April 11, 1953, she married Normand I. Gaulin in Hartford, Connecticut.
After Normand completed his military service with the U.S. Navy in 1971, the Gaulin’s lived in Brunswick until 2011 when they moved to the Megunticook House in Camden.
Leah enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, and shopping. She worked for several years as a bookkeeper at E.L. Spear & Sons in Rockland.
Predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Normand in 2015 and son-in-law, Joseph Laub, Leah is survived by three children, Deborah Pease and her husband Stephen, of Hope; Michael Gaulin and his wife, Christina of Northport; Therese Gaulin of Rockport; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital or to a Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
