Obituary for Kevin W. Curit
LINCOLNVILLE…………Kevin W. Curit, 47, a twenty year resident of Lincolnville, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 6, 2023 in Lincolnville. Born in Rockport on July 14, 1975, he was the son of Bruce Curit and Doreen Beerman (Allen) and grew up in Camden attending schools there.
An expert engine repairman, Kevin could fix an automobile, lawn mower, tractor, snowmobile, and just about anything with a motor. He had also owned his own carpentry business and snow plowed driveways. He was a former member of the Lincolnville Fire Department where he was part of the Access Team.
Kevin’s hobbies included boating, fishing and wheeling. Kevin was a problem solver. There was no task that a bit of “yankee ingenuity” couldn’t solve. He applied this skill in his carpentry business and while turning wrenches on his or his buddies’ wheelers while broken down on a mountain trail.
Kevin was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need whether they were family, friends or folks in his community. Kevin knew no strangers as to meet him you instantly became a friend.
Predeceased by his father, Bruce Curit, Kevin is survived by his mother Doreen Beerman of Newburgh; two children, Cristian Curit and his partner, Audrey Holt, of Dresden, Ayla Curit of Lincolnville; sister, Katerina Campbell and her fiancé, Tyler Collins of Rockport; three brothers, Kenneth Curit and his fiancé, Heather Keizer of Thomaston, Scott Curit of Rockland, Shawn Curit of Monmouth; nieces, Natasha, Hayley, Ariel, Anastasia, Aurora, Coraline, Kelsey, Dakota, Amiah; nephews, Caleb, Carson, James, Gifford, Andrew, Joseph and Aiden. Kevin is also survived by his former wife and the mother of his children, Jennifer Curit of Lincolnville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves behind an extended family of friends that are such a large number that we cannot name you all but know that he loved you as his own.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at 2pm, Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the Camden American Legion Post #30, 91 Pearl Street, Camden. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial gifts may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous or to Knox County Homeless Coalition.
