GLORIA A. WILEY
ROCKLAND…………………….Gloria Ann Wiley, 86, of Rockland, died on Friday, January 3, 2020 at the Sussman House in Rockport surrounded by her family. Raised in Rockland, she was born in Tewksbury, Massachusetts on May 5, 1933 and was the daughter of Carl and Ilma (Johnson) Sewall. Gloria was a member of the Class of 1951 at Rockland High School.
On February 9, 1952, she married Melvin Wiley in Rockland and worked for a number of years at Port Clyde Foods in Rockland. Gloria enjoyed her gardens, spending time with her grandchildren, volunteering at the Salvation Army, and crocheting. She will be remembered for her quick wit and love for her family.
Surviving are her three daughters, Deborah Glover and her husband, John, of Owls Head; Kathy Pinkham and her husband, Jeff, of Montville; Kim Wright and her husband, Gary, of Vassalboro; three sons, Wayne Wiley and his wife, Gloria, of Lakeland, FL; Melvin Wiley, Jr. and his partner, Amy Thompson, of Searsmont; and Glenn Wiley of Rockport; six granddaughters, Bethany Wiley; Samantha Bragg and husband, Alan; Alina Wright; Siiri Pinkham; Alexis Perry and husband, Karl; Mya Wiley; three grandsons, Jay Glover and his partner, Kate Hobbs; Matthew Wiley; Kevin Glover and his partner, Jeanie Cushman; five great-grandchildren, Austin Davis, Aubri Wiley, Trystan Murphy, Matthew Wiley, Jr., and Jaxson Bragg; one brother, Clyde “Sonny” Sewall; one sister, Lucille Heal and husband, Robert; a sister-in-law, Katie Wiley; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin Wiley, Sr. in 2006, as well as sisters, Joanne Daniello and Diane Daniello.
Memorial gifts in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 27 Payne Avenue, Rockland, ME 04841. Calling hours will be held from 12-2PM, Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Long Funeral Home, 9 Mountain Street, Camden.
