Obituary for Floyd O. Pease

FLOYD O. PEASE

HOPE - Floyd Osmond Pease, 91, of Lincolnville, died on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at his son’s home in Hope. Born in Appleton, on June 3, 1929, he was the son of Albert and Mildred (Edgecomb) Pease. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the U.S. Army. On September 30, 1055, he married Lena E. Roy in Appleton.

Floyd and Lena lived in Camden when they were first married, moved to North Appleton for several years, then spent 49 years living in Lincolnville. Floyd worked for 26 years for the U.S. Postal Service delivering mail six days a week to Islesboro and on Route 1 from Camden to Lincolnville Beach. He loved meeting people and developed many friendships along the way. During his retirement years, he enjoyed growing vegetables and had a small garden stand selling his home grown items.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #30 in Camden and belonged to the VFW in Zephyr Hills, Florida, where he and Lena enjoyed spending the winter months.

Lena and Floyd loved to dance and enjoyed going to dances both in Maine and in Florida.

Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Lena Pease, of Lincolnville; son, Stephen Pease and his wife, Deborah of Hope; two grandchildren, Angela William and Michelle Pease, five great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Pease of North Appleton; one brother-in-law, Richard Roy of Burketville; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Earle) Weaver of Camden, Kathy (Bill) Packard of Union, and Brenda Rogers of AZ.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Pine Grove Cemetery in Appleton.
