Dorothy L. Rossbach

Dorothy “Dot” Louise Rossbach, 81, died after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease on October 21, 2019. Born in Camden, November 7, 1937, she was predeceased by her
parents, Willis E. Ogier and Elizabeth A. [Harden] Ogier. Dorothy had one brother, Robert Ogier. Dorothy attended Hoboken School and Rockport High School. She took night
classes to obtain her high school diploma at Rockland High and continued to take courses at UMA Rockland. She enjoyed summers at the camp, sitting by the harbor and watching the ducks swim by at Laite Beach. She was a homemaker and later used writing as her voice when she couldn’t otherwise be heard. She later became a published author. Dot could often be found at local Methodist suppers with friends. Dorothy was a Noble Grand of Martha Washington with the Rebekah’s and an LAPM in Bangor #14. She was later the President of Senior Citizens in Camden and a Leader of TOPS. Dot volunteered for the Literacy Volunteers of Maine and was a member of the Midcoast Ladies
Club.Dorothy was predeceased by loving partner, Paul Thorndike and infant son, Rene Davis. Survived by children: Gloria Lord, Charles Davis, Michael (spouse Karen) Davis, Deborah Davis (partner Charlie Radley) and Cynthia (spouse David) Sturm. Grandchildren: Meghan, Kristopher, Nathaniel, Jesse, Rebecca, Bethany, Andrew, Cathrynn, Elizabeth, Charles, TJ, Katie, Jenny. Great grandchildren: Cassidy, Carter, Landon, Aidan, Ella, Alexis, Clara, Madison, and Maddison. Her love for her family was indescribable. She will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held at 12pm on October 26, 2019 at Long Funeral Home, 9 Mountain St. Camden, ME 04843.
