Obituary for Andrew William Jones II

ANDREW W. JONES, II

HOPE……………….Andrew W. Jones II, 65, husband of Kathi (Stein) Jones passed away from Glioblastoma at his home on Sept 18, 2022.
Born in Framingham, MA, he was the son of Leon Jones Sr and Edith Jones, and attended school in Westborough before moving to Camden with his family. He attended Camden High School and graduated from Westborough High School. Andrew also studied art for a few semesters at the University of Maine in Augusta.
Andrew was very intelligent, and an avid reader from a young age. He was never at a loss for words and he enjoyed conversations with everyone he encountered.

He had an artist’s soul. He enjoyed a large genre of music, literature, and being in nature. Andrew especially loved being on the water and traveling. He would always seek out the opportunity to fish wherever he could. Andrew’s most cherished moments were spent cooking for his loved ones and telling tales. Happy hours at home with his friends brought him joy over the past year.
His working career was diverse, including bartending at Mr. Kites in Camden, cooking in several restaurants in the mid coast area and many years in various roles within the fuel oil industry. In 2020, Andrew retired from Maritime Energy.

Besides his wife of 42 years, Kathi Jones of Hope, surviving is his mother, Edith Baker of Camden; brothers Leon Jones II, and his son Walter of Millinocket; Timothy Galvin and his wife,Wendy, and their daughter, Trysdan of Cushing; sisters Sandra Wiley and her husband, Roger of South Casco, Jodi Weaver and her husband, Bill, of Livermore Falls; brother-in-law, John Stein and his wife Sue, of Camden; nephews Steven Wiley, Everett Weaver, Matthew Weaver and their families, John Stein of Belfast; nieces, Jessica Wright and family of Old Orchard Beach, Allison Jencks of Jefferson, Madison Tallberg of Thomaston, and many great nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his special friends Eileen and Leonard Ames of Hope.
Andrew was predeceased by his Father, Leon Jones Sr, his brother Edward Galvin, and sister-in-law, Deirdre Stein Tallberg, as well as his Father and Mother-in-law, Donald (Pete) and Ernestine (Snooky) Stein.
Special thanks should be extended to Dr. Christine LuEmerson who will remain in their hearts as well as the hospice workers.

A celebration of Andrew’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday Oct. 8, 2022 at the Rockport Masonic Lodge, 361 Main Street, Rockport.
