Obituary for Claire Jolliffe

CLAIRE L. JOLLIFFE
CAMDEN………………….Claire L. Jolliffe, 89, died on March 23, 2017 at her home in Camden. Born in Somerville, MA on June 4, 1927, she was the daughter of Lawrence Dana and Jane Frances (Taylor) Hall. After high school graduation, she worked 9 ½ years for the B&M Railroad, and on April 16, 1949, she married Howard R. Jolliffe.
Claire and Howard lived in Malden and Reading MA; Cape Elizabeth; North Reading and Georgetown MA. After Howard retired, they enjoyed spending summers in Georgetown and Camden, and winters in Clearwater, FL. In 2002, they moved to Camden; permanently in 2013.
Claire enjoyed gardening, knitting, hooking rugs, sewing, and playing the piano. She was an avid reader and loved animals, especially cats.
Surviving is her husband of 68 years, Howard Jolliffe, son, Stephen Jolliffe of Atlanta, Georgia, and Diane Jolliffe of Camden.
A spring graveside service will be announced to be held in the New Harbor Cemetery. If desired, memorial gifts may be made to PAWS, P.O. Box 707, Rockport, ME 04856.
